James Joseph “Jim” Paxson Jr. ( born James July 9, 1957 , Kettering , Ohio ) is an American professional basketball player , the son of Jim Paksson Sr. and the elder brother of John Paxson , who also played in the NBA.

Player Career

He played as an attacking defender and light forward . He studied at the University of Dayton , in 1979 he was selected for the NBA draft under the 12th number by the Portland Trail Blazers team. He later played for the Boston Celtics team. In total, the NBA spent 11 seasons. Twice took part in the match of all the NBA stars (1983-1984). Once included in the 2nd national team of all the NBA stars (1984). In 1979, he joined the 2nd All-American National Team of the NCAA . In total, during his career in the NBA he played 784 games in which he scored 11,199 points (an average of 14.3 per game), made 1593 rebounds , 2300 assists , 951 interceptions and 93 block shots .
