It is located 120 km southwest of the village of Polyarny , near the Alyprytyn river.
The field was discovered by K.V. Paraketsov (Chaunskiy RayGRU) during geological reconnaissance work in 1955. Geological exploration work at the field was carried out from 1955 to 1970. In total, three coal seams were discovered - “Powerful”, layers B and C. Their thicknesses range from 0.2 to 6 m. In industrial development, the most powerful is the “Powerful” layer, which contains coke coals.
The coals of the deposit are humus in composition, autochthonous in origin. There is the possibility of developing the deposit in an open way with a maximum overburden depth of up to 50 meters.
In 1998-2008 the development of the field was carried out by the artisanal artisan Polyarnaya , the maximum annual production reached 34 thousand tons.
