Biography
He was born on April 7, 1917 in the village of Vershina (now Verkhnedneprovsky District, Dnipropetrovsk Region ) of Ukraine into a peasant family. Ukrainian .
He was drafted into the Red Army in 1939. He graduated from courses of military agitators and political workers . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1941.
At the front since 1941. Agitator of the 120th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 39th Guards Rifle Division ( 8th Guards Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ) of the Guard Captain Rudnichenko I. A. on the night of October 24, 1943 , one of the first in the group of 17 man, under enemy fire, crossed the Dnieper River 5 km south of the city of Dnepropetrovsk . The soldiers captured the bridgehead on the right bank of the Dnieper. After the death of the commander, I. A. Rudnichenko took command over himself and within a day, together with the soldiers, repelled several enemy counterattacks, keeping the occupied line.
Guard Captain Rudnichenko I.A. died in battle on October 24, 1943 . The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded posthumously on March 19, 1944 .
He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Volny Khutor, Verkhnedneprovsky District, Dnipropetrovsk Region of Ukraine.
