Biography

Born February 28, 1924 . After graduating from school in 1941, she volunteered for the Red Army. She received the rank of senior lieutenant, participated in many battles. Has been awarded a number of awards. In 1945, she returned to Moscow and entered the forensic training courses under the Ministry of Justice of the RSFSR. After graduating, she was sent to the Khabarovsk Territory as a forensic scientist. Also taught this subject at the Khabarovsk police school. For 20 years, she worked in the Moscow City Police Department as an expert criminalist. Upon retirement, she worked at the Central Museum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia .

She was awarded the Order of the Red Star, medals "For Military Merit", "For Courage", "For the Defense of Leningrad", "For the Liberation of Warsaw", "For the Capture of Berlin", "For the Victory over Germany".

Retired police colonel. Sophia Feinstein was one of the main investigators in the case of the so-called. Mosgaz, the serial killer of Vladimir Ionesyan , who is considered the first serial killer in the history of the USSR. Thanks to Feinstein, his image set was created, and soon he was caught.

Sofya Isaakovna Feinstein died on May 25, 2012 in Moscow.
