Story
In 1991, young Jeff Buckley rehearsed before his debut performance at a Brooklyn concert dedicated to the memory of his father, the deceased folk singer Tim Buckley . Faced with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff makes friends with the mysterious girl Ellie, performs at a concert and gradually realizes the powerful potential of his own musical voice [2] .

Production
Badgley got the role after he sent out a record of his singing [6] . Badgley said that he took vocals and guitar lessons for the role. [7] Gary Lucas, a project consultant, songwriter, and former collaborator with Jeff Buckley, played and rehearsed with Bagley. [8]
All the music in the film was taken from Tim Buckley’s discography, except for Leonard Cohen ’s Hallelujah , which Jeff Buckley recorded for his only studio album Grace , released in 1994 [9] .
