Death of a Superhero is a 2011 English-language movie drama based on the novel of the same name by New Zealand writer Anthony McCartin . The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on September 10, 2011 , at the Dublin International Film Festival on February 26, 2011 , in Russia on April 5, 2012 .

Anthony McCarten planned to film his work in 2008 [5] , but in the end the film was shot by Ian Fitzgibbon in 2010 in Ireland . The main role was played by Thomas Sangster .
Story
Teen Donald Clark has cancer, his parents are most concerned about the fact that the guy does not want to fight the disease. Donald has the ability to draw comics - he created the story of a silent superhero saving the world and his enemy - a supervillain with a large syringe. The film ends with the fact that people close to Donald begin to look at life differently [6] .
