Biography

Born in Ostrogozhsky district in a noble family in 1787. He entered the service on January 26, 1808, as a cunker in His Highness the Ulansky Regiment; on March 12, 1809, he was promoted to the cadet belt. On October 22 of the same year, in cornet, and on December 12, the dragoon regiment was transferred to the Life Guards with renaming as ensign. Made by lieutenant on May 21, 1810 with the transfer to the Kiev Dragoon Regiment. June 5, 1812 staff captain. He was in campaigns against the enemy in 1812 on June 28 at Peace, July 11 at Novoselki and Sultanovka, on August 14 at Luzhki, 15 near Novonikolaev, from 20 to 24 in a retirement from Gzhatskaya marina to the village of Borodino, 24 and 26 at the battle of Borodino, where he was shot in the leg by a bullet.

From May 20 to August 1, 1813 at outposts at Purnik, on August 7 at the battle of Tsopten, 11 at Golberg, 14 at Gertsdorf, from December 25 to January 12, 1814 during the blockade of the Kassel fortress, and from January 25 to January 28 of the same year at the Mainz fortress, 26 during the capture of Reims, on March 5, 15 at the forefront of the crossing of the Marne River, for the difference shown during this crossing was made captains, 17 and 18 participated in the capture of Paris, from April 12, 1815 in a campaign in Poland, Germany and France and the blockade of the fortresses of Luzenstein, Metz. By a high order on March 12, 1821, Zakhar Konstantinovich was dismissed from service with a uniform, and a full-time pension with production to lieutenant colonels. The last years of his life, Zakhar Konstantinovich Somov spent in his estate in Ostrogozhsky district. His further fate is unknown. His name is stamped on the 15th wall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
