As a child, Dageuil went to a monastery on the island of Devenish (county of Ferman ) to study under the supervision of St. Lazren ( English Laisrén mac Nad Froích ). After graduation, he went to study under the guidance of St. Komgall in the monastery of Bangor , after which he became an artist under the saint of Kiaran Klonmaknojssky , for which he made 300 bells , 300 staves and 300 copies of the Gospel, which were distributed as a gift among other monasteries in Ireland.
Then, with the blessing of St. Columbus, he founded a monastery on the island of Inishkin. Local residents tried to kill him, but they did not succeed, and they were driven out to the Beara Peninsula ( English Beara Peninsula ) (in the county of Cork ).
