Ramadan ( Arabic: رمضان ) or Ramadan ( Turkish: Ramazan ) is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar .
This month, Muslims fast during daylight hours from the beginning of morning twilight to sunset, and at the end of the month they celebrate the festival of Uraza Bairam (Eid al-Fitr).
The word ramadan in translation from Arabic means “scorching heat”, “burning”, “hot”, “hot”. However, it often happens that Ramadan falls for the winter. The Islamic calendar is lunar, and the months begin with a new moon . The lunar year is shorter than the sun by 10.875 days, therefore, the month of Ramadan with each year comes earlier by 10 or 11 days.
