In the Red Army since 1941 . After a month of preparation, I went to the front under the city of Tikhvin . He fought in the 59th separate ski battalion as an assistant to the commander of the ski platoon. Participated in the liberation of the city of Tikhvin in December 1941. In the spring of 1942, a wound brought him down for several months. After the hospital was sent to the Leningrad Infantry School , which was then in the city of Glazov, Udmurt ASSR . But he did not have to finish, he was sent to Stalingrad . Got to the legendary 39th Guards Rifle Division . He participated in the Battle of Stalingrad , where he was wounded. Member of the CPSU since 1943.
Assistant platoon commander of the 41st separate guards reconnaissance company of the 39th Guards Rifle Divisions ( 8th Guards Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ). Sergeant Paradovich A.I. Guards, together with the amphibious group, on October 24, 1943 , under enemy fire, crossed the Dnieper , south of Dnipropetrovsk , first rushed to the wire fence, made the passage through which the whole group passed. First burst into enemy trenches. Participated in the reflection of several enemy counterattacks.
“On October 14, our 39th Guards Barvenkovskaya division occupied Zaporizhia, and five days later our reconnaissance, numbering only twenty-one fighters, was redeployed near Dnepropetrovsk. We were located six kilometers south of the city, opposite the village of Zhukov. The width of the Dnieper in this place was 900-950 meters. Below were the rapids, where to swim or go was absolutely impossible. On the right bank, there was a three-line wire fence, and the bank was 18–20 meters high. The wire fence was mined. In addition, there were three rows of trenches, bunkers, bunkers and dugouts. To prevent this whole system of fire from moving, it was necessary to force the Dnieper secretly, without the support of artillery, on one pontoon boat. Our group had the task to force the Dnieper, knock out the enemy from the occupied lines, gain a foothold and allow our units to lead the crossing. On October 24, 1943, at 12 o'clock in the morning, an order was received: an hour later, proceed to the crossing.
There was silence, only occasionally shells and machine-gun turns of tracer bullets flying in our direction in wide space were heard. Having plunged into the pontoon boat, they moved to the opposite shore. When past the middle of the river, a German rocket flew into the sky. The Nazis discovered the boat and began shelling. With all our strength, we rowed in order to get to the shore as soon as possible, the healthy replaced the wounded and the dead and quickly and quickly worked with oars. About a hundred meters from the shore, the boat overturned from the shell of the projectile. The commander of our company and eight fighters died, and the rest were in the water. Through the tears of shells, hail of bullets floated to the shore. The Dnieper in this place turned out to be shallow, and soon we got to the shore and straight off with shouts of “Hurray!” Rushed forward. But we were stopped by wire barriers. I took over the command of the company. Leaving in place the crossing of two wounded in order to divert the attention of the enemy, I went downstream with the rest of the group. The thresholds were close here and according to my calculations the defense should be weaker. This turned out to be true. True, there were pillboxes and bunkers, but significantly less. There was a wire fence here. Threw overcoats on him; I with three fighters unnoticed moved over the wire. But here we were discovered and opened a hurricane of fire. Our happiness that we were in a dead space, the bullets did not hurt us. Taking advantage of this, they began to look for a passage up to the steep bank, and soon found it. After walking a few meters, they were close to the bunker, near the boxes were grenades. Armed, we threw grenades at the bunker. They destroyed 7 fascists and captured three machine guns. Seeing success, the rest of our scouts made their way through the same overcoats to us. Armed with three machine guns, with a large number of cartridges to them and seven boxes of grenades, we began to expand the captured area.
Here are two more bunker and four machine guns in them, occupied about two hundred meters along the river. At dawn the strike of the nazis fell upon us. But we have already prepared for it. True, our forces were small: only 5 people and two of them wounded. But we fought for every ten. In total, nine attacks were repelled, and the Nazis kept going and going ... It is not known how this would have ended if three signalers had not swum across our bridgehead and had not caused our artillery to fire. The guns were well-beaten, for the enemy was only 20-30 meters away. With the help of artillery, all attacks were repelled, in the evening troops crossed over to our bridgehead. ”
