Biography

Born on January 2 (new style) on January 15 , 1916 in the village of Lopatino (now Sergachsky District, Nizhny Novgorod Region ). After graduating from seven grades of the school and the preparatory course of the Kurmysh Political Education Institute, he studied at the Sergach Pedagogical College.

In December 1933 [1] he was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army by the Sergach District Military Commissariat. He served in the 1st Mechanized Brigade named after Kalinovsky , in November 1934 he was sent to study at the Oryol Armored School named after M.V. Frunze . In 1936 he graduated from it and in December 1936 he was appointed commander of a tank platoon of the 3rd reserve tank brigade of the Moscow military district ( Ryazan ). Since February 1937, he commanded a platoon in the 30th chemical tank brigade of the same district ( Yaroslavl ), in July 1938 he was appointed assistant commander of the tank company for the technical part in this brigade. The brigade was armed with flamethrower tanks .

In 1939 he graduated from the Advanced Training Courses for the command staff. After their graduation, he returned to the same brigade in April 1939 as a tank company commander. As part of the brigade, he participated in the Soviet-Finnish war . Since October 31, 1940, he served as senior adjutant of the tank battalion of the 35th Panzer Regiment of the 18th Panzer Division ( Kaluga ).

Since June 1941 - on the fronts of World War II, when he was transferred to the Western Front as part of a division. From the end of August 1941, he was a senior adjutant of the tank battalion of the 127th Panzer Brigade of the 16th Army of the Western Front, from November 1941 he was the commander of a heavy tank company of the 117th Panzer Regiment of the 58th Panzer Division in the same army, from January 28, 1942 years was adjutant to the commander of the 30th army of the Kalinin Front . Since May 1942 - deputy commander of the 143rd tank brigade of the 30th army. In these posts in the first year of the war he participated in battles in the Bialystok-Minsk battle , in the Lepel counterattack , the Smolensk battle , in the battle for Moscow . He was surrounded several times.

Since September 1942, he commanded the 240th Panzer Brigade in the 30th Army of the Western Front . At the head of the brigade participated in the operation "Mars" . From mid-December 1942, he commanded the 101st tank brigade of the 19th tank corps on the Western and Bryansk fronts. Since March 1943 - commander of the 237th separate tank regiment of the 13th army (as part of the Central , Voronezh , 1st Ukrainian fronts). At the head of the regiment participated in the Battle of Kursk and in the battle of the Dnieper .

From January to March 1944, he commanded the 36th Guards Tank Brigade of the 4th Guards Mechanized Corps on the 3rd Ukrainian Front . During the Dnieper-Carpathian strategic operation in battle on March 26, 1944 he was wounded. After leaving the hospital in June 1944, the lieutenant colonel was appointed commander of the 3rd Panzer Brigade of the 23rd Panzer Corps of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . He fought during the liberation of the Ukrainian and Moldavian SSR.

Especially distinguished during the Iasi-Chisinau operation . Being in the front parts of the corps, the brigade successfully advanced 80 kilometers ahead, crossed the Siret , Moldova and Bistrita rivers , liberated the cities of Tirgu Frumos and Roman , and also blocked the retreat to the three Wehrmacht divisions and one Romanian corps. In those battles, the tank crews of his brigade destroyed 15 tanks and assault guns, more than 80 artillery guns, captured about 26,000 German and Romanian soldiers and officers [2] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 13, 1944, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and shown courage and heroism”, Colonel Ivliev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal for number 2571 [2] .

In the final year of the war, at the head of the brigade, he liberated Romania , Hungary , Czechoslovakia [2] during the Debrecen , Bucharest-Arad , Budapest , West Carpathian and Vienna offensive operations.

After the war he continued his service in the Soviet Army . For almost a year he commanded the same brigade, then commanded regiments: from March to July 1946 - the 115th guards self-propelled tank in the Carpathian Military District , from September 1946 to March 1950 - the 87th guards heavy self-propelled tanks in the Southern Group of Forces ( Romania ), from March 1950 to January 1951 - the 110th self-propelled heavy tank in the Carpathian military district. In 1951 he graduated from advanced training courses for officers at the Military Academy of Armored and Mechanized Forces named after I.V. Stalin . From January 1952 he commanded the 52nd Separate Tank Training Regiment, from July 1953 to November 1954 - the 19th Guards Mechanized Division .

In 1956 he graduated from the Higher Military Academy named after K. E. Voroshilov . Since November 1956, he was the commander of the 20th Panzer Division in the Northern Group of Forces ( Poland ); since August 1958, he was the commander of the 23rd Guards Taman Motorized Rifle Division of the Moscow Military District [3] . Since May 1962, he commanded the 13th Guards Army Corps . He died on February 18, 1966 in a car accident. He was buried at the Bugrovsky cemetery of Nizhny Novgorod [2] .
