History
The club was founded on January 1, 1980 , represents the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas and is based in the city of Ciudad Victoria. The club joined the Segundo in 1982. In the 1986–87 season, the club reached the finals, where they met with “ Queretaro ” at Aztec Stadium, they managed to snatch victory in a penalty shootout and earn a promotion. The club had no luck in its first season in Example . Before the 1988–89 season, the club managed to retain its place after buying the Nes club franchise and take their vacant position. The club continued to play the next seven years in the First Division, before moving on in 1995, this time they did not buy any franchise to maintain their status in the Second Division. In Apertura 2005 and Klausur 2006, the club was one of the strongest teams in the league, but in the final stages of the competition they lost to Leon and then Indios in the semifinals.
Title
The club's nickname - correcaminos (“road runners”) - comes from the name of the running cuckoo common in this region. The “road runner” character is also captured in the famous cartoon “ Sly Coyote and Road Runner ”.
