Jimmy Picard ( English Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian ) is an American drama by French filmmaker Arnaud Deplachen , based on a book by French-American ethnopsychiatrist Georges Devereux . The main roles were played by Benicio Del Toro and Mathieu Amalric . The film was selected in the main competitive program of the 66th Cannes Film Festival ^[1] under the working title "Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian", or "Jimmy P." ^[2]

Story

The film tells about Jimmy Picard ( Benicio Del Toro ) - an Indian who, after returning from the front of the Second World War, begins to worry about psychosomatic diseases . He goes to a hospital in Topeka, Kansas, where he meets the French ethnopsychiatrist Georges Devereaux ( Mathieu Amalric ). Further, the plot of the film is built around the professional and friendly relations of Georges Devereaux and Jimmy Picard.
