FIDE Grand Prix 2012/2013

FIDE Grand Prix 2012-2013 - a series of 6 chess tournaments. Players who took 1-2 places in the series took part in the Candidates Tournament in March 2014 .

Content

Rules

  • Time control : 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, for the next 20 moves 60 minutes and 15 minutes with the addition of 30 seconds for each move made since the 61st.
  • Players are not allowed to talk to each other during the game and offer draws.

Prizes

When dividing places, the points will be divided equally.

Qualifiers

1.1 Participant in the finals of the 2012 World Cup Boris Gelfand .

1.2 In addition to the 2011 World Cup winner ( Petr Svidler ), the following three players: Alexander Grischuk , Vasily Ivanchuk and Ruslan Ponomarev .

1.3 Seven players were selected by the average rating for January and October 2007. The first six chess players (except those who already qualified on other points), qualified automatically:

  • Karjakin, Sergey
  • Topalov, Veselin
  • Nakamura, Hikaru
  • Radjabov, Teymur
  • Mamedyarov, Shakhriyar
  • Kamsky, Gata

1.4 The FIDE President could nominate one player who was at least 40th in the world ranking list for October 2007. If qualified players (from clause 1.1) refused to participate, then the president could nominate players from various countries.

1.5 AGON could nominate one player with a rating of at least 2550 in the last rating list.
