Creation History
The song was written by Lennon under the influence of psychotherapy , which he conducted with Dr. Arthur Janov , the founder of Primary Therapy, a Freudian theory that a person’s psychological problems are caused by his repressed childish feelings. The doctor gave the patient an exit of children's insults, sometimes in the form of a cry. This song of John, like some others, is an attempt to pour out children's longing. In particular, this one is for his parents.
