Biography
Sergey Ivanchikov was born on October 6, 1912 in the village of Khruslovka (now the Venevsky District of the Tula Region ). He graduated from high school and two courses of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute . In November 1941, Ivanchikov was sent to the evacuation in the village of Kraychikovo, Kolosovsky District, Omsk Region , and was a mathematics teacher at a local school. In March 1942, he was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He studied at the 1st Omsk Military Infantry School , was released by a sergeant and in August 1942 was sent to the front of the Great Patriotic War. He took part in the battles on the Stalingrad , Donskoy , Steppe and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He participated in the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk , the liberation of the Ukrainian SSR . By September 1943, senior sergeant Sergei Ivanchikov commanded a fire platoon of the 958th rifle regiment of the 299th rifle division of the 53rd army of the Steppe Front. Distinguished during the battle for the Dnieper [1] .
On the night of September 30 to October 1, 1943, Ivanchikov, as part of the forward detachment, crossed the Dnieper in the Kremenchug area and took an active part in the seizure and retention of the bridgehead on its western shore. On October 5, while repelling another German counterattack, a platoon of Ivanchikov hit two enemy tanks and destroyed a large number of soldiers and officers [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated February 22, 1944 for "courage and heroism shown during the crossing of the Dnieper and in the battles to hold and expand the bridgehead seized" senior sergeant Sergei Ivanchikov was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal " Number 3311 [1] .
In 1945, Ivanchikov graduated from the 2nd Leningrad Artillery School. In 1946, in the rank of lieutenant, he was dismissed. Returned to his homeland. From 1952 he lived in Venev , worked as a district head, deputy chairman of the Venevsky district executive committee, second secretary of the Venevsky district committee of the CPSU, chairman of the district branch of the VOOPIK . He died on August 4, 1993 [1] .
Freeman Venev. He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Ivanchikov, a prize was awarded for annual bullet shooting competitions in the Venevsky District Council of ROSTO [1] .
