Andreyevsky, Valerian Valerianovich

Valerian Valerianovich Andreevsky ( July 15, 1875 - not earlier than 1931 ) - Colonel of the Russian Imperial Army, commander of the 35th mortar artillery division, hero of the First World War.

Biography

Born July 15, 1875 in Pultusk ( Lomzhinsky province ), the son of Major General Valerian Alexandrovich Andreevsky .

He was educated in the 1st Cadet Corps , after which he entered the Mikhailovsky Artillery School on September 7, 1892. Released on August 12, 1895, as a second lieutenant with secondment to the Life Guards of the 2nd Artillery Brigade. August 12, 1899 received the rank of lieutenant .

Further, Andreevsky took a course of sciences at the Nikolaev Academy of the General Staff , was issued in the 2nd category, and returned to his brigade. August 12, 1903 promoted to headquarters captains and August 12, 1907 received the rank of captain. Following this, Andreevsky graduated from the Officer Artillery School with a rating of "successful." Then he served in the Guards mortar division, where on December 6, 1911 he was promoted to colonel [1] .

November 29, 1913 he was appointed commander of the 5th battery of the Life Guards of the 2nd Artillery Brigade [2] . Being in this position, he fought against the Germans from the very beginning of the First World War . By the highest order of June 1, 1915 Andreevsky was granted the St. George’s weapon [3]

 For the fact that in the battle of 10 oct. 1914, near the village of Grudek, being at the front-line observation post in the realm of real gun artillery fire, he repelled the enemy’s attack exclusively with the fire of his battery, inflicting a decisive defeat on him. 

July 31, 1915 was appointed commander of the 35th mortar artillery division.

After the October Revolution, Andreevsky remained in Soviet Russia , no information was found about his participation in the Civil War . He lived in Leningrad and worked as a statistician in the management of the October Railway .

On March 8, 1931, he was arrested by the organs of the OGPU, and on April 25 of the same year, on charges of article 58-11, he was sentenced by the KOGPU to exile in the West Siberian Region for 3 years. His further fate has not been established.

Rehabilitated posthumously on August 31, 1989.
