Biography
Nikolai Sergeevich was born on September 15, 1913 in the city of Serpukhov , in the family of an employee. He graduated from high school. In 1934 he graduated from the Lebedyansky Zoological College (Saratov Region) . After military service in the army in 1935-1937, he worked at state farms in the Saratov and Kalinin regions . Member of the CPSU (b) (CPSU) . In 1941 he graduated from the high school of party organizers at the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks and shortened courses at the Military-Political Academy.
During World War II
On the fronts of World War II since September 1941. Since the fall of 1941 - Commissioner of the Marine Rifle Brigade, which in December 1941 was reorganized into the 27th Guards Division. Member of the defeat of Nazi troops near Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad , the liberation of Ukraine .
From May 1943 to February 1944 - deputy commander for political work, head of the political department of the 39th Guards Rifle Division ( 8th Guards Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ). He conducted targeted and effective political work in the division, mobilized soldiers for the successful crossing of the Dnieper and the liberation of the city of Dnepropetrovsk 10/25/1943, and 02/14/1944 - strategically important railway junction Apostolovo .
He was seriously wounded and shell-shocked.
The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded on February 22, 1944 (medal No. 3303). The war ended in Berlin .
Post-war
He headed the political department of the Red Banner Military-Political School twice in Leningrad. In 1951 he graduated from Leningrad State University , in 1955 the Military Academy of the General Staff .
Since 1962 in stock. He lived in Moscow. He worked as head of the military editorial office of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia , deputy chief editor of the Military Knowledge magazine.
Member of the Union of Writers of the USSR and Russia since 1979 . The author of more than 10 books about the Great Patriotic War.
He died on April 12, 2001 . He was buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery (plot 4).
