Biography

Born in January 1912 in the village of Varosh near Prilep . Hailing from a peasant family that grew tobacco on its plot.

He worked in his youth in the tobacco factory in Prilep. Chopela was in the labor movement, participated in a mass strike on April 4, 1938 (there were 2,000 strikers altogether).

In 1940, he was admitted to the Communist Party of Yugoslavia , worked at the Tobacco Manufacturers Association and organized protest actions against monopolization. [2]

In the same year, Jordan was drafted into the Yugoslav army for the purpose of re-education, however, he also organized a riot there because the soldiers were underfed, for which he was arrested and spent three months behind bars.

After the defeat of Yugoslavia and its surrender, as a member of the Prilepsky city committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, he took up the organization of the anti-fascist movement, having managed to form the Prilep partisan detachment.

Often he was engaged in the courier service, delivering messages. Soon Bulgarian police began to hunt for Chopela, starting his search in Prilep and in the suburb of Varosha.

In January 1942, Jordan moved to Bitola , where he engaged in the formation of a new partisan detachment.

Bulgarian police continued to hunt Chopel. April 9, 1942 , early in the morning, police forces surrounded Jordan's house. In an unequal battle, Jordan was seriously wounded and captured, but died on his way to the police station from his wounds. He was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Yugoslavia by decree of the Presidium of the National Assembly of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on August 1, 1949 . [3]
