Biography
Mikhail Tikhonovich Nikiforov was born on November 7, 1918 in the village of Kazanka, Buzdyaksky District, BASSR.
Education is incomplete secondary. He began to work in 1936 after completing tractor training courses at Alsheevsky grain farm, until 1939 he worked as a tractor driver, a driver at the Buzdyaksky grain farm. In 1939-1947 he served in the ranks of the Red Army, participated in the Great Patriotic War.
Since 1947 - a tractor driver, manager of a dairy farm, an agronomist, manager of the Komsomol branch of the Buzdyak state farm, Buzdyak district.
For several years, the department led by Mikhail Nikiforov was at the state farm advanced, annually received high and stable yields. For 1963-1965, the average grain yield on an area of 2,900 hectares amounted to 15.6 centners, while the yield on the state farm was 12.1 centners. The annual delivery of bread to the state amounted to 24-26 thousand centners, or 150-160 percent. Thanks to the good organization of labor in the department, the correct crop rotation was mastered, the crop culture was highly placed, the transition to sowing by varietal seeds was carried out. For three years, the cost of grain decreased by 19 percent.
The department achieved good performance in animal husbandry. Over three years, the number of cows has grown by 197 percent, and the calf plan has been completed by 122 percent. The plan for the delivery of meat in 1965 was implemented by 141 percent, milk - by 119 percent. The cost of meat for three years in the department decreased by 12, milk - by 17 percent.
For the successes achieved in increasing the production and procurement of wheat, rye, buckwheat and other grains, fodder crops and high-performance use of machinery, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 23, 1966, Mikhail Nikiforov was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
Before retiring in 1978, he worked as the manager of the Buzdyaksky state farm of the Buzdyaksky district of the Republic of Belarus. He died on October 30, 1993.
