Biography
Born in a working class family. Russian.
He lived in the city of Mytishchi, Moscow Region. He graduated from 7 classes of Mytishchi secondary. School number 2 (1935), the school of the Federal Law. He worked as a mechanic at a factory in Podlipki, now Korolev, Moscow Region.
In the Red Army since January 1942. At the front in World War II since July 1942. He was a gunner, gun commander.
Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943.
On July 17, 1944, the enemy’s easel machine gun stopped the advance of our infantry. The Nazis opened fire on the advancing from guns and mortars. The gunner of the 354th artillery regiment of the 139th rifle division of the 50th army of the 2nd Belorussian front, the Red Army soldier Galin rolled the cannon to an open position and destroyed the enemy machine gun with the first shell, along with the servant. For two days on July 17 and 18 in the battles for the settlements of Ogorodniki and Pogorani (18 and 20 kilometers south-east of the city of Grodno, Belarus, respectively), several cannons of the enemy were destroyed by gun fire. Together with other calculations, it repelled an enemy counterattack, destroying over forty soldiers and officers [1] .
By order of the 139th Infantry Division of August 1, 1944, Red Army soldier Galin Konstantin Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree .
On August 19, 1944, in the battles for the village of Koponaya (12 kilometers north-east of the city of Zambrov, Poland), the gunner of the 354th artillery regiment 139 SD Galin with the calculation (as part of the 49th army) destroyed the assault gun, six machine guns, three anti-tank guns and before the platoon of the Nazis [2] .
By order of the 49th Army of October 26, 1944, Red Army Galin Konstantin Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree .
On January 20, 1945, the gunner of the 354th artillery regiment 139 SD, Red Army soldier Galin in the area of Baranowe (20 kilometers northwest of the city of Ostroleka, Poland), along with his subordinates, destroyed three firing points and a group of enemy soldiers. For which he was presented to the Order of Glory of the 1st degree [3] [4] .
On February 10, 1945, in the battles for the Slavno Slavic County , West Pomeranian Voivodeship , Poland, the gunner of the 354th artillery regiment 139 SD, Corporal Galin, being with a direct-fire gun reflecting the enemy’s counterattacks, destroyed and destroyed 2 self-propelled guns Ferdinand and 20 armored personnel carriers German soldiers and officers. For which he was presented to the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree , but was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 2nd degree [5] [6] .
March 26, 1945, participating in the battles to liberate Gdansk ( Poland ) from his guns he shot a counter-attacking enemy, destroying up to 20 German soldiers and officers. On the night of March 27, gunner of the 354th artillery regiment 139 SD, Corporal Galin, along with his gun, crossed the Vistula River to an urban area located on the island of Holm, after which he opened artillery fire on enemy units, forcing them to retreat deep into the island, thereby giving the opportunity to cross the island to our troops. In this battle, Galin, as part of his gun crew, destroyed the enemy company, an anti-tank gun and two enemy machine guns before the company. For which he was presented to the Order of Lenin , but was awarded the Order of the Red Banner [7] [8] .
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 29, 1945, for the courage, bravery and heroism shown in the struggle against the Nazi invaders, the Red Army soldier Galin Konstantin Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree .
In 1946, the foreman K.I. Galin was demobilized. He lived in the city of Korolev, Moscow Region .
In 1965 he graduated from a mechanical college. He worked as a mechanic, foreman, group leader of the experimental engineering plant NPO Energia.
Participant of the Parades on Red Square in Moscow on May 9, 1985 and 1990, dedicated to the 40th anniversary and 45th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
He died on May 3, 1998. He was buried at the Novoselkovsky cemetery in the city of Ivanteyevka, Moscow Region.
