The jurisdiction of the diocese of Zacatecoluca extends to the department of La Paz and a small part of the department of San Vicente . The Diocese of Zacatecoluci is a member of the Metropolitanate of San Salvador . The cathedral of the diocese of Zakatekoluki is the Church of Our Lady of the Poor.

History
On May 5, 1987, Pope John Paul II issued the Bull Circumspicientes Nos , which he established the Diocese of Zacatecoluca to separate from the Diocese of San Vicente .
