Naima Makhmudovna Makhmudova ( August 10, 1928 , Tashkent - June 7, 2017) - Soviet Uzbek doctor, state and public figure. Member of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 10 and 11 convocations (1979-1989). Member of the Supreme Council of the Uzbek SSR of two convocations.

Biography

Naima Makhmudovna Makhmudova was born on August 10, 1928 in Tashkent [1] , in the family of the Uzbek poet Batu (Mahmud Khodiev).

In 1951 she graduated from the Tashkent Medical Institute .

Until 1958, she worked as the chief physician of the Urgut regional sanitary and epidemiological station , then, from 1958 to 1963, she worked as the chief physician of the Samarkand regional sanitary and epidemiological station . In 1963 she moved to Tashkent with her family.

In 1963-1971 she was Deputy Minister of Health of the Uzbek SSR . In 1971-1977 - Deputy Chairman of the Uzbek Council of Trade Unions . In 1977-1986 - Chairman of the Uzbek Council of Trade Unions .

Twice she was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Uzbek SSR and twice more - a deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR 10-11 convocations (1979-1989) from the Karakalpak Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic [2] [3] . She served as chairman of the health commission of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR . She was a member of the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions , a member of the Uzbek Society of Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries and the Committee of Soviet Women .

In 1968 she defended her thesis on "The historical development of therapy in Uzbekistan ." In 1975 she defended her doctoral dissertation on the topic " Organization of medical rehabilitation and social adaptation of patients with cerebral palsy in Uzbekistan ." In 1986 she received the title of professor.

In 1986-2000, she headed the Department of Social Hygiene (since 1997, the Department of General Hygiene, Social Hygiene and Health Care Organization ) of the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute . Then she was a professor-consultant of this department.
