Biography
Born on October 5, 1909 in the village of Vecherky, Poltava province of the Russian Empire (now - Piryatinsky district , Poltava region , Ukraine ) in a peasant family. Ukrainian .
Before serving in the army , from 1938 to 1941, he worked as an accountant in the city of Piryatin . He had two sons.
Army Service
In the army since 1941 . In 1942 he graduated from the Kuibyshev Military Communications School. At the end of the school - commander of a communications platoon of the 120th Guards Rifle Regiment ( 39th Guards Rifle Division , 8th Guards Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ).
Guard Lieutenant Tsyban during the crossing of the Dnieper on the night of October 24, 1943 south of the city of Dnepropetrovsk and the battle on the bridgehead provided stable communication with the division headquarters , participated in repelling numerous enemy counterattacks.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 19, 1944, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism of the guard shown, Lieutenant Tsyban Pyotr Fedotovich was awarded the highest rank of the USSR Hero of the Soviet Union .
Guard Lieutenant Peter Tsyban died in battle on November 22, 1943. He was buried in the village of Avdotievka, Sofievsky district, Dnipropetrovsk region of the Ukrainian SSR .
