Derik or Al-Malikiya ( Arabic. المالكية , Kurd. Dêrika Hemko , sir. ܕܝܪܝܟ ) is a city in the north-east of Syria , located in the territory of Al-Hasak governorate . The administrative center of the region of Malikiya .

Geographical position
The city is located in the northeastern part of the governorate, near the border with Turkey , at a distance of approximately 140 kilometers northeast of the city of Al-Hasaka , the provincial administrative center and at a distance of 662 kilometers northeast of Damascus , the country's capital. The absolute height is 503 meters above sea level [1] .
