Biography
He was born on 01.01.1922 in Nikolayevshchina . Before the war, he studied at the Nikolaev flying club, became a pilot. During the years of World War II, he taught the skill of future aces of air battles , then he fought, carried out 550 sorties, being in the airspace for 850 hours.
Upon returning home, among the “ thirty thousandths ” he was sent to the rise of the village. In 1955, Lichko Vasily Grigoryevich headed the Yuzhny state farm in the Nikolaev region, which later became the foremost. In 1971, the Yuzhny state farm received the Badge of Honor order , and its director Lichko Vasily Grigoryevich was awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of Socialist Labor and the second Order of Lenin.
After retirement he headed the organization of veterans of the Zhovtnevy district of the Nikolaev region , carried out educational work with youth, repeatedly meeting with students of schools and higher educational institutions. After his death, in honor of Lichko V.G., one of the streets of the village of Kotlyaryovo of the Nikolaev region (the central avenue) was named. The name of Vasily Lichko is applied to the monument of labor glory in the city of Nikolaev .
