Biography
Born December 17, 1969 in Moscow. He studied violin at the Central School of Music at the Moscow Conservatory under Professor M. S. Glezarova , then at the Moscow Conservatory in the violin class and at the same time in the viola class with Professor Yu. A. Bashmet . After graduating from the conservatory, he played in the Russo Quartet, which was formed in the class of M. S. Kopelman (classes with a quartet were also conducted by V. Berlin and D. Shebalin). He has been playing in the Borodin Quartet since 1996 .
Awards and titles
Laureate of the State Prize of Russia (2001), also awarded the medal of the Order for Merit to the Fatherland, II degree.
Laureate of international quartet contests: Concertino Prague (1988), in Italy (Sicily, 1990, 1st Prize) and the Yehudi Menuhin competition in London (1991). In 1995, he won the 1st prize at the International viola competition Yuri Bashmet in Moscow.
