Tandi Wright ( born Tandi Wright , born May 4, 1970 [1] ) is a New Zealand film and television actress. She was born in Zambia to parents of New Zealand descent (Vernon Wright and Dina Priestley). Educated in New Zealand. In 1996-1999 she appeared in the series Shortland Street as Nurse Caroline Buxton. [2] She is also known for her roles in the films The Black Sheep , Thunder in the Clear Sky and the TV series Lost Children, Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta and The Legend of the Seeker , where she played the role of Mord-Sit Alina.

Biography

Thandy Wright grew up in Wellington , where she graduated from Wellington High School and the University of Queen Victoria (Victoria University of Wellington). Her father, Vernon Wright, worked as a journalist. He currently resides in Zambia. Mother, Dina Priestley, is a writer and actress in Wellington . Tandy has two half-sisters - Nicky (DOC Policy Advisor) and Justine (editor), and two stepsisters.

He currently lives with her husband (Michael Beran) and daughter Olive in Auckland .

Career

In 1996-1999, she starred in the Shortland Street television series as Nurse Caroline Buxton. In 2000, she starred in one of the episodes of the final season of the series Xena - the Warrior Queen , playing the role of Sarah, Gabrielle's niece. In 2005, she appeared in the series Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta . In 2006, she starred in the movie Black Sheep , where she played the role of a scientist who worked with cloning and gene modifications of sheep.

In 2009-2010, she starred in the series " The Legend of the Seeker ", where she played the role of Mord-Sith Alina in three episodes ( "Mirror", "Payback" and "Another Fate" )

In 2010, she played the role of Kelly Ross, the wife of the protagonist, in "This Is Not My Life." In 2013, she appeared in the film Jack the Vanquisher of the Giants as the Queen. In 2015, Thandy starred as Claire Winship in the drama Returnees, which closed after the first season due to low ratings. [3]

In 2000, she won two Chapman Tripp theater awards for Best Supporting Actress for her production of Rutherford and The Most Promising Female Debut for A Midsummer's Night Dream.

In 2003, she was nominated for Best Actress for the Willy Nilly show on the TV Guide Best on the Box People's Choice Awards.

In 2005, she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as Sally in the TV series “Serial Killers”.

In 2008, Tandy was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the film Out of the Blue Film and Television Awards.

In 2011, she was nominated for the Best Actress Aotearoa Film & Television Awards for her role in the film This Is Not My Life. [6]
