Mt.Gox (from the English Mount Gox ) is a digital currency exchange operating between the Bitcoin cryptocurrency and national currencies . As of August 2013, about 47% of all transactions in the Bitcoin network were made through this platform. [1] [2] As of January 2014, the exchange occupied the third place in terms of trading volume on the market [3] , and the Bitcoin exchange rate is much higher than on other similar platforms due to delays in the withdrawal of funds in dollars arising from actions of the US authorities.

Tender Incidents
On June 19, 2011, due to a security breach on Mt.Gox fraudulently, the value of the nominal price of Bitcoin was reduced to 1 cent, after which the cracker allegedly used the credentials from the compromised computer of the Mt.Gox auditor to illegally transfer a large number of himself Bitcoin He used the Mt.Gox software to sell at a lower face value, placing a bid to sell at any price. After a few minutes, the price was reduced to the value established by the legal auction of customers. [7] [8] [9] [10] [11] Accounts with currency equivalents of more than $ 8,750,000 were affected. After an incident with unauthorized access to user data in June 2011 [12], MtGox introduced the Yubikey USB stick for a two-level authentication system [13] . Upon entering, the keyfob user must enter not only his account name and password, but also the one-time key generated by the keyfob when pressed. With a longer press, the key fob generates a key of another series, necessary for transferring funds from the system. As stated in the service description, when using a key, all previous generated keys become invalid.
In March 2013, the bitcoin transaction log was temporarily divided into two independent logs with different rules by which a transaction is accepted. Mt.Gox briefly suspended bitcoin accounts. After this event, the price of bitcoin also fell for a short time by 23% to $ 37, [14] [15] until the previous version of the magazine was restored and the price returned to about $ 48. [sixteen]
