Biography
Ivan Zybin was born on October 24, 1925 in the village of Nizhnee Berezovo (now - Shebekinsky District, Belgorod Region ). He graduated from junior high school. In 1943, Zybin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . From November of the same year, on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, he was a shooter of a motorized rifle battalion of the 67th mechanized brigade of the 8th mechanized corps of the 5th Guards Tank Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the liberation of the village of Malaya Visk in the Kirovograd region of the Ukrainian SSR [1] .
January 9, 1944 Zybin with a group of soldiers first broke into the premises of the German security of one of the factories of the village and destroyed it. On the way to the railway station, he destroyed 11 more enemy soldiers and officers. In the battle, directly at the Zybin station, 6 German soldiers were destroyed and two railway grenades were blown up, preventing the enemy train from leaving [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 10, 1944, Red Army soldier Ivan Zybin was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal No. 5242 [1] .
In 1945, Zybin graduated from the Kazan Tank School. In 1952, in the rank of senior lieutenant, he was dismissed. Lived in Kharkov . Died June 17, 1997, buried at the Kharkov cemetery number 2 [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
Memory
- A memorial plaque in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union I. F. Zybin was installed in Kharkov at the address: 134, Tractor Builders Avenue.
