Phoenix [1] ( Chinese р 岛 п , pinyin : Fènghuáng dǎo , pall .: Fenghuang Dao ) is an artificial island off the coast of Hainan Island ( China ).

Description
Phoenix Island is located south of Hainan Island , with which it is connected by a bridge 395 meters long [2] . Phoenix has an oval shape with a size of approximately 1100 by 370 meters, the island area is 365 013 m², the area of the premises in buildings is 392 825 m². About 33 thousand square meters of LED panels are installed on the outside of the buildings.
The cost of building the island was approximately 1900 US dollars per square meter.
The filling of the island and the construction of buildings on it began in 2008 by the architectural firm MAD Studio , completion is scheduled for 2014. The size of the investment is more than five billion yuan (about 700 million US dollars ) [3] .
On May 4, 2008, it was from Phoenix that the Olympic flame of the XXIX Games began its journey through China [3] .
The island is divided into eight parts. On it are or will be:
- 50-meter sculpture of the fiery Phoenix [4]
- 200-meter seven-star hotel
- five star hotel
- five 28-story buildings, the cost of apartments in which reaches 24 thousand dollars per square meter [5]
- six luxury residential buildings
- conference center
- ferry pier and berth for yachts with 150-300 seats
- bay for cruise ships
- yacht Club
- Restaurants, shopping and sports facilities [2]
