Group History

All members of the group are musicians who have left the Paris Théâtre du fil theater. In 1998, in Ile de Re Murad, Olivier and Florent decided to stage a small play called La Rue Kétanou (in tune with the group's motto: “We do not belong to the street - this street belongs to us!”) In order to attract people's attention. They played on the streets, in pubs, in cafes until they were asked to sign up in the studio when Bibou (one of Tryo members) gave their songs to Patricia Bonneto (one of Sony representatives). Thus, in 2000, La Rue Kétanou released his first album (En attendant les caravanes). At the same time, Tryo invites the group to perform at their opening act in Paris Olympia and subsequently play together the entire tour, consisting of twenty concerts. The fame of La Rue Ketanou became more and more - instead of small halls for 50 people, they already gathered 200-300 people at a time. In 2002, the second album (Y'a des cigales dans la fourmilière) was released, and two years later the third album (Ouvert à double tour). Due to the fact that each of the three members, in addition to the group, was also engaged in his own project, after the recording of the last album, there were rumors that the group finally broke up, but they turned out to be false. However, Florent managed to record his solo album (T'inquiète Lazare), while Murad and Olivier worked on the project Mon côté punk. But, after some time, the group reunited again, and in 2009 their fourth album (À Contresens) was released. In 2011, the band released their new album (La Rue Kétanou et le Josem). It includes the best, according to the performers, songs recorded over the entire existence of the group, but with minor amendments. The latest album was released in 2014 (Allons voir).
