History
The ancient city of Urzi was located in the Roman province of Carthage and in the first centuries of Christianity was the center of the eparchy of the same name, which was part of the Metropolitan of Toledo.
The Diocese of Urzi ceased to exist in the 8th century during the Arab conquest of the Prinean Peninsula .
Since 1970, the Diocese of Urzi has been the titular diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
