Biography
Isabella was born on January 12, 1276 [Com 2] in the family of King Levon II and Queen Keran . During the reign of his brother Hetum , on January 7, 1293 [Kom 3] , in order to consolidate the union, she was married to the brother of the Cypriot king Amori of Tire [1] . After her husband’s rebellion in Cyprus was crushed, she and her four children fled to her brother, the Cilician king Oshin . As a result, relations between the Cypriot and Cilician kingdoms were so complicated that both states were on the brink of war, and only the personal intervention of Pope John XXII prevented a military clash [2] . After the death of King Cilicia, the throne was inherited by her nephew Levon V , whose regent was the Corykos Prince Oshin . By order of the latter, in May 1323 , in the city of Sis , Isabella and her eldest son were killed [2] . Guy de Lusignan's second oldest son, later known as King Costandin III , was in Constantinople with his aunt, the sister of his mother, the Byzantine Empress Rita , during the murder. The other two, and Boehmund, were exiled to hospitals on the island of Rhodes [2] .
