Biography
Born in a farm laborer's family. He joined the revolutionary movement in 1905 in Jelgava . In the party, he served as secretary and cashier. He wrote literary works in prison or at night, while underground, he translated Upton Sinclair's novel Jimmy Higgins. In 1919 - Commissioner of Social Security of the Latvian Socialist Soviet Republic . After her fall in 1921, he was arrested , sentenced to death by a Latvian court, and shot in Riga.
