Emblem Description
“In a azure field, silver bull horns curved like a crescent, growing from a mountain into the color of a field with a silver (snowy) peak. Between the horns is a golden three-legged choron . On the sides of the mountain are two smaller silver mountains. There are seven silver arched Yakut diamonds at the head (figures in the form of squares placed at an angle, each of which is dissolved into six parts: crosswise and like two rafters converging on the sides). ”
Emblem Symbolism Description
Verkhoyansk ulus is known throughout the world as the Pole of Cold . January 15, 1885 in the city of Verkhoyansk , the lowest temperature in the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth was noted - minus 67.8 ° С. According to Yakut folk mythology, severe frosts and fog come from the breath of the mighty mythical Bull of Winter (“Tymnny o5uha”). The White Bull of Winter with blue spots has huge horns, frosty breathing. With warming in mid-February, one horn disappears, and in March the second horn breaks off. Then his head flies away, and then his whole carcass falls apart with a roar. After that comes spring. The image of the mountain peaks is due to the fact that the region has long been known in Yakutia as “the mountain Verkhoyanie” (“Taastakh Dyaany”), since a significant part of the territory is occupied by an extended chain of mountains of the Verkhoyansk ridge. The image of the Yakut national vessel for koumisopia - chorona is associated with the primordial residence in the territory of the ulus mainly of the Yakut population. The image of choron legs in the form of horse legs indicates that horse breeding is developed here, mare's mare is produced. A special breed of horses is famous throughout the republic - the Yana horse, which is hardy, adapted to cracking frosts, unpretentious, fetching its own food from under the snow. Choron is also a symbol of abundance, wealth, in this case means the abundance and wealth of the bowels of Verkhoyan.
Diamonds in a special stylization, similar to their stylization in the State Emblem of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), indicate the administrative-territorial affiliation of the municipality to the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The author of the coat of arms and computer design: Matveev Arthur Matveevich (Yakutsk).
