Biography

He studied at the Jesuit Gymnasium, and then at the University of Vytautas the Great [1] . Since 1935 he began to play basketball, played for the Grandis team [2] .

He played for the Lithuanian national team since 1937 [3] . At the victorious European Championship in 1937, he played in all five matches, scored 18 points, 8 of them in the semifinal meeting with the Polish team [4] . In the next championship in 1939, he was also one of the main players of the national team, played in all 7 matches, scored 60 points. Individually, the most successful were the games with the national teams of Hungary (79:15) and Finland (112: 9), in which he scored 21 and 20 points, respectively [5] . As a result, the Lithuanian team won the tournament, and Puzinauskas was one of the first double champions in European basketball history [6] .

In total, he played 24 matches for the Lithuanian national team and scored 164 points [3] .

In addition to basketball, athletics: in the championship of Lithuania in 1942 pushed the core (13.74 m) and the metal disk (41.02 m); He was the national champion in pentathlon [3] .

In 1944, he fled first to Austria, then to Germany. In 1952 he immigrated to the United States [3] .
