Nanchang Star is the third highest ferris wheel in the world, located in the eponymous urban district in China .

The Ferris wheel cost 57 million yuan ($ 7.3 million) and was officially opened to visitors in May 2006 . With a height of 160 meters, at that time the Nanchang Star surpassed the 135-meter London Eye and was considered the highest observation wheel in the world until 2008 , when it lost the championship to the 165-meter Singapore observation wheel .

Nanchang Star has 60 indoor air-conditioned booths, each of which can accommodate up to 8 people. The wheel never stops, and its slow rotation allows all visitors to calmly leave the booth or sit in it. The wheel makes a full revolution in about half an hour.
