Musically, “Thank” is very different from previous records. Andrey Zaporozhets defined the style of the album as “def kef” - a cross between hip-hop , dubstep and ethnic music . [2] At the same time, the motives and ideas of the lyrics of the collective, on the contrary, remained the same: the idea of continuity of life, the pursuit of goodness, the celebration of the openness and authenticity of the feelings and actions of people. [2] [3]

The estimates given to the album are equally radical. While some reviewers call it nothing more than a “collection of experiments,” others are not stingy with claiming that SunSay revolutionized the music world and introduced a “new level of sound perception.” [four]

“The album was produced by two very different people, a lover of low-fi experiments by Kostya Chalykh, who sampled the sound of a broken cup on his tiny recorder and made a lot of unexpected oddities in the sound. And the rhythm master Vyacheslav "Fame" Semenchenko, who made drums, basses, scratches and influenced the arrangement so much that we decided to call it Def Kef, as it seemed to us that we had not heard such music before! The entire SUNSAY band also participated in the album and each invested a piece of the soul, while Artem Altunin put everything in its place during the mixing. And now he is the new SUNSAY Def Kef album! ”

Like the previous album , “Thank you” is available on the Kroogi .com website, where everyone can listen to or download songs from the disc for free, and also, if desired, thank the group by donating an arbitrary amount of money.

Interesting Facts

  • The distribution scheme of the album remained the same as in the case of the “Easy” album: you can purchase the album on physical media only at the concerts of the group; The digital version of the album is available for free listening and downloading on the Internet.
  • The name of the musical style “def kef” came from a combination of two abbreviations: kef - from the word “kefir” (a song with the same name is on the album), also on the American slang kef - “buzz”; and "def" in hip hop jargon is "cool." [5]
