Story
Mario Beretti is a hairdresser who emigrated to New York . His life reaches a turning point when he receives notification of the death of his aunt, living in England , who declared him his sole heir.
Mario hurries off to the UK and finds out that his legacy consists of thirteen antique chairs. He sells them to cover his travel expenses, but he soon learns from his last message from his aunt that there is a condition inside one of the chairs. He is trying to buy chairs, but unsuccessfully. With the help of the fine antique dealer Pat, who lives in London , he sets off in search of chairs that are sent from London to Rome . Along the way, they meet a bunch of strange characters, such as Albert, a furniture delivery van driver, a prostitute named Judy, Maurice, the head of a traveling theater troupe who poses for a version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde , Italian entrepreneur Carlo Di Seta, and his daughter Stefanella.
A strange chase ends in Rome, where a chair with money falls into a truck and goes to an orphanage. Mario returns to New York on a ship, Pat waving him goodbye.
Mario comes to his hairdresser. His last client said that before leaving for Europe, Mario invented a remedy that promotes rabid hair growth.
