Glaux , or the Miller ( Latin Glaux ) is a genus of dicotyledonous flowering plants included in the subfamily Mirsinovye ( Myrsinoideae ) of the family Primotory ( Primulaceae ). Includes one species - Glaux seaside ( Glaux maritima L. ).

According to The Plant List (2013), the name Glaux maritima L. is synonymous with the correct name Lysimachia maritima ( L. ) Galasso , Banfi & Soldano (2005) [2] .

Title
The scientific name of the genus Glaux was first used in relation to this plant in 1700 by Joseph Pitton de Tournefort . In 1753, Karl Linnaeus adopted this name in Species plantarum . In the Viennese Dioscorides, the name dr.-greek. γλαυξ referred to as some kind of coastal plant.
Botanical description
Glauks is a small rhizomatous perennial herb with erect or ascending stems not exceeding 25 cm in height.
The leaves are arranged in whorls of four, but in the upper part of the stem sometimes alternate, without petioles, up to 1.5 cm long, entire, in outline, oblong-lanceolate, linear or spatulate.
Flowers solitary, in the axils of the upper leaves, on very short pedicels. The rim is missing. Calyx corolla colored pink or white, divided into 5 oblong-obovate segments. Five stamens , adherent to the base of the calyx, with ovate anthers. The pistil is thread-like, with capitate stigma and ovoid ovary .
The fruit is a spherical five-bolus box up to 3 mm in diameter.
The number of chromosomes 2n = 30.
Area
Glaux is widely distributed throughout the temperate and subarctic zones of the Northern Hemisphere . In Russia, it is found in the north of the European part , throughout Western Siberia , in the south of Eastern Siberia, and in the Far East .
