Village History

The village got its name by the name of the first owner. In the surviving sources, the village of Konstantinovo was first mentioned in the spiritual letter of 1331 of the Moscow Grand Duke Ivan Danilovich Kalita. Since then, over the course of a century and a half, it has been constantly in the possession of the grand ducal house, handed down from generation to generation to the eldest of the sons of the Moscow Prince.

Under Ivan ΙΙΙ, the village was given into the ownership of the Moscow Nikolo-Ugreshsky Monastery. This is becoming known from two traveling letters of the 90s of the XV century.

Information on the history of the village for the XVΙv. absent, and by 1627 it was the property of the Moscow Novospassky Monastery. Then there was the wooden church of Mikhail the Archangel, the monastery courtyard, the clerk’s yard, three courtyards of “monastery cubs”, 16 courtyards of peasants. According to the census of 1646, in the village, in addition to the monastery courtyard, there were 40 peasant households.

In 1703, the monastery transferred the village with 65 yards for rent to Boris Petrovich Sheremetyev, and five years later, in 1708, Peter ordered that the village be transferred to him in full ownership by registered decree.

After the death of B.P. Sheremetyev, Konstantinovskoe inherits his son from his second marriage, Pyotr Borisovich Sheremetyev, who was born in 1713, six years before the death of his father.

In 1812, the village fell into the combat zone. In the early morning of September 5, on the orders of M.I. Kutuzov, a convoy led by General D.S. Dokhturov left the camp at the Borovskaya crossing to the right of the Ryazan road and went through Konstantinovo to Podolsk, performing the famous roundabout maneuver.

In 1852, the village belonged to the grandson of P. B. Sheremetev, Count Dmitry Nikolaevich Sheremetyev

After the death of D.N. Sheremetyev, the estate in Konstantinov belonged to his son Count Sergey Dmitrievich. [2]

In 1994-2006, the village was the center of the Konstantinovsky rural district .
