(376) Geometry ( dr. Greek γῆ + μετρέω ) is a typical asteroid of the main belt , which belongs to the bright spectral class S. It was discovered on September 18, 1893 by the French astronomer Auguste Charlotte at the Nice Observatory and named after geometry , one of the oldest branches of mathematics that studies spatial relations and forms, as well as their generalizations [1] .

Orbit of the asteroid. Geometry and its position in the solar system.
Photometric observations made in 1983 at the Haute Provence Observatory made it possible to obtain the light curves of this body, from which it followed that the period of rotation of the asteroid around its axis is 7.74 ± 0.02 hours, with a change in brightness with rotation of 0.16 ± 0.01 m [2] .
