Biography
From 1972 to 1973 he served in the army .
From 1973 to 1978 he studied physics at the Dresden Technical University and the Humboldt University of Berlin .
From 1978 to 1990, he worked as a researcher at the Institute for Environmental Protection in Wittenberg .
From 1990 to 1992 - Deputy Head of the Wittenberg District.
Since 2006 - Minister of Economics and Labor of the State of Saxony-Anhalt.
April 19, 2011 was elected Prime Minister of Saxony-Anhalt and succeeded Wolfgang Boehmer , who held this post for 9 years [3] .
