Paul Westphal ( born Paul Westphal ; born November 30, 1950 in Torrance , California , USA ) is an American professional basketball player and coach. Member of the Basketball Hall of Fame since 2019.

Player Career
He played the position of attacking defender . He studied at the University of Southern California , in 1972 was selected for the NBA draft under the 10th number by the Boston Celtics team. Later he played for the Phoenix Suns , Seattle Supersonics and New York Knicks teams. In total, the NBA spent 12 seasons. In the 1973/1974 season, Westfall became the NBA champion in the Boston Celtics. In 1968 he became the best basketball player among high school students . Five times (1977-1981) participated in the NBA all-star game . Three times (1977, 1979 and 1980) was included in the 1st national team of all the stars of the NBA , and also once (1978) - in the 2nd national team of all the stars of the NBA . The number 44 was assigned to him at Suns. In total, he played 823 games in which he scored 12,809 points (an average of 15.6 per game), made 1,580 rebounds , 3,591 passes, 1022 interceptions and 262 block shots .
Career Coach
After completing a career, he coached the Phoenix Suns (1988–1996), Seattle Supersonics (1998–2000), and Sacramento Kings (PROM) teams.
Twice he was appointed as the head coach of the NBA all-star match to the West team (1993, 1995).
