Shalkovo is a village in the Mikhailovsky rural district of the Volga rural settlement of the Rybinsk district of the Yaroslavl region ^[1] .

The village is located east of the highway going from the center of the rural district of Mikhailovsky to Alexandrov Pustyn . The village is located a short distance from the swampy left bank of Ioda , upstream and south along the road from the village of Besovo . The village Kotlovo, closest to the side of the Aleksandrova Desert, is on the road about 1.5 km to the south. About 1 km On the opposite, right bank of Ioda is the village of Korovaevo , a country road leads to it from Shalkovo. To the south-west of Shalkovo there is a vast swampy forest massif that separates the valleys of the Cheryemuha River and its tributary Ioda, part of this massif is occupied by the Chudinovsky swamp ^[2] .

The village of Shalkova is indicated on the plan of the General Land Survey of the Rybinsk district in 1792.

As of January 1, 2007, there were 9 permanent residents in the village ^[3] . A post office located in the village of Mikhailovskoye serves 13 houses in Shalkovo ^[4] .
