(373) Melusine ( Latin: Melusine ) is a rather large asteroid of the main belt , which was discovered on September 15, 1893 by the French astronomer Auguste Charlois at the Nice Observatory and named after Melusine , fairies from Celtic and medieval legends, the spirit of fresh water in holy sources [ 1] .
