The Archdiocese of Lome ( Latin: Archidioecesis Lomensis ) is the archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Lome , Togo . The metropolitanate of Lome includes the dioceses of Anejo , Atakpame , Dapaong , Kara , Kpalim , Sokoda . The Cathedral of the Lome Archdiocese is the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

History
The Apostolic Prefecture of Togo was established on April 12, 1892 by separating the territory from the Apostolic Prefecture of Dagomei (today, the Cotonou Archdiocese ).
On March 16, 1914, Pope Pius X issued the log of Divinitus commissum , which transformed Togo's apostolic prefecture into an apostolic vicar .
On March 15, 1923 and May 18, 1937 the Togo Apostolic Vicariate transferred part of its territory in favor of the construction of the Upper Volta Apostolic Vicariate (today the Diocese of Keta-Akatsi ) and the Apostolic Prefecture Sokode (today the Diocese of Sokode ).
On June 14, 1938, the Togo Apostolic Vicariate changed its name to the Lome Apostolic Vicariate in accordance with the decree of the Praeterito anno Congregation for the Propaganda of the Faith .
On September 14, 1955, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Dum tantis , which raised the apostolic vicar of Lome to the rank of archdiocese.
On September 29, 1964, the Archdiocese of Lome transferred part of its territory in favor of the construction of the Diocese of Atakpame .
On July 1, 1994, the Archdiocese of Lome transferred part of its territory in favor of the construction of the dioceses of Anejo and Kpalima .
