It is part of the Minkovsky rural settlement [1] , in terms of administrative-territorial division - in the Minkovsky village council.
The distance by road to the district center of the village of Babushkin is 38 km, to the center of the Minkovo municipality is 14 km. The nearest settlements are Tinovatka , Minkovo , Grozino .
In 1999, it was entered in the register of settlements of the Vologda Oblast as the village of Flax Plant [2] . In 2001, the name was changed to the village of Flax Mill [3] .
According to the 2002 census, the population is 88 people (42 men, 46 women). The predominant nationality is Russian (97%) [4] .
