Summary
The stone sickle knife was made ofdetachment elliptical or rectangular shape. One edge of the gun was sharpened, and the other remained blunt.
There were two types of these knives - polished and padded. They differed in the way of fastening on the arm. A polished knife-sickle in the area of the blunt edge was located two holes, through which the rope was pulled, which fastened the tools to the fingers. The broken knife instead of holes had a groove that ran in the middle of the gun on both sides, in which the rope was attached. Among the knives found, polished samples predominate.
During the harvest, similar sickle-knives were often blunt, so they were either re-sharpened or thrown away and used new ones.
There were analogues of shell , bone and wooden sickle-knives. An iron sickle knife was found in the city of Yamasika in the prefecture of Kumamoto . However, such variations are rare.
